Fit-again Litton returns for Bangladesh's ODI series against Zimbabwe

Bangladesh have received a timely boost ahead of the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe, with in-form Litton Kumar Das declared fit after recovering from a calf injury.

Litton had been ruled out of the one-off Test against Zimbabwe after sustaining the injury during the ODI series against Australia in Dhaka. The wicketkeeper-batter also missed the subsequent three-match T20I series against Australia in Chattogram, with Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan replacing him in the Test squad.

There had also been uncertainty over Litton's availability for the ODI series, especially with both he and Taskin Ahmed expected to miss the T20Is against Zimbabwe due to their LPL commitments. However, Litton has resumed training at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and is expected to be fit in time for the 50-over leg of the tour.

"It is a huge relief that he is back. Our physio is confident that he will be fit before the ODIs, considering he is an integral part of our all-format set-up," BCB chief selector Habibul Bashar told Cricbuzz on Thursday.

The tour begins with the one-off Test in Harare on June 28, followed by the three-match ODI series. The T20Is, scheduled for July 6, 9 and 11, will also be played at the Harare Sports Club.

Bangladesh ODI squad: Mehidy Hasan Miraz (captain), Soumya Sarkar, Mohammed Saif Hasan, Tanzid Hasan Tamim, Najmul Hossain Shanto (vice-captain), Towhid Hridoy, Litton Kumar Das, Mosaddek Hossain Saikat, Quazi Nurul Hasan Sohan, Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam, Nahid Rana.
