Delhi Capitals captain Jemimah Rodrigues has been fined for slow over-rate in her team's last-over defeat against Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara on Tuesday (January 27). This was Jemimah's first over-rate offence, leading to a fine of INR 12 Lakh.

After two successive wins last week, Rodrigues's team lost a bit of ground in the race to the playoffs as they suffered a three-run defeat to the Giants.

This came after they conceded 174/9, with 15 coming off the 20th over. They had a shaky start to the chase before a seventh-wicket partnership offered hope and dragged their chase to the very end. Sophie Devine, who was taken to the cleaners in the 17th over, hit back in the 20th by holding her nerves and eking out a slender win for her side.

DC's campaign now hinges on their last league match - against UP Warriorz on February 1.
